Grant Application Announcement
Missouri Campus Compact announces two micro-grant opportunities, one for individual faculty members, and one for our institution as a whole. Funding for these grants is from a Missouri state appropriation designed to support civic engagement in higher education. Missouri Campus Compact funding is intended to encourage and further civic engagement in higher education. These small grants provide seed money for faculty to integrate service-learning experiences into courses. They are intended to contribute to increased citizenship, thereby, strengthening Missouri's higher education campuses.
The deadline for submitting proposals is May 23, 2008.

Greetings from Missouri Campus Compact:
Attached you will find the Call for Proposals for the next round of Missouri Campus Compact Individual Faculty and Institution-Wide grants. The purpose for these grants is to strengthen individual faculty’s and our member institutions’ use of service-learning as a teaching pedagogy. These grants are, therefore, seed grants. In regard to faculty, we hope they will foster the use of service-learning courses beyond the life and scope of this grant. For institutions, we hope that they will help campuses organize and institutionalize the structures necessary to support faculty in their service-learning endeavors. As you will see in these documents, the deadline for proposals is May 23, 2008.
It is the goal of Missouri Campus Compact to encourage and further civic engagement on the part of higher education. While these grants do not accomplish this goal in its entirety, I trust that they are a boost to your faculty institution, and to that degree contribute to citizenship in Missouri as well as strengthen higher education in the state.
Finally, this grants round represents the last of the funds allocated to Missouri Campus Compact for this mini-grant program from our state legislature. Future grants will be announced and awarded based on future funds received by Missouri Campus Compact.
Sincerely,
Melissa Mace
Executive Director, Missouri Campus Compact
