News at Noon
News at Noon, a program sponsored jointly by the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of Student Life, and the New York Times, is designed to create discussions about current events between faculty and students. Open the attached flyer to learn the topics selected for each week and which faculty experts will lead each discussion. Students: please swipe your ID at a College Readership News bin and bring a New York Times to News at Noon. The New York Times, a sponsor of the American Democracy Project, is buying pizza for the first 25 students in the room. Faculty members are invited to bring a lunch and join the forum.
Present a Poster on April 1, 2009
The CTL plans a poster display about campus civic engagement activities on April 1 from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM in conjunction with Civic Engagement Day. The hours from 12:00-12:30 and 6:30-7:00 PM are designated as an interactive poster session and presenters are asked to be present. Submit an idea for a poster

Constitution Day
Constitution Day is an opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge of the Constitution at a time when constitutional issues, from privacy to presidential power, confront the nation daily. The federal government now requires educational institutions to observe the signing of the Constitution to commemorate the anniversary date of September 17, 1787.

American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS)
ACS is engaged in a multi-year initiative, the Constitution in the 21st Century, to promote positive, much-needed change in our legal and policy landscape. The project brings together scholars and practitioners to formulate and advance a progressive vision of our Constitution and laws that is intellectually sound, practically relevant and faithful to our constitutional values and heritage. The centerpiece of the project is a series of issue groups focused on discrete areas of law and policy, through which a wide range of members will develop, communicate and popularize progressive ideas through papers, conferences and media outreach.
