Pilz
is the school’s all-time steals king, holding school records
for most steals in a game with eight, most steals in a season
with 86 in 1990-91, and most steals for a career with 233. He
holds the fourth-best single season scoring record with 574 points
in 1990-91 where he averaged 20.5 points per game. He is the second
all-time leading scorer in UMSL history with 1,673 points, and
is one of just three players in the history of the MIAA to record
over 1,500 points, 350 assists and 150 steals on his career.
In
the UMSL record books, Pilz ranks fifth in career field goals
made with 527, second in free throws made with 455, second in
assists with 426 and second in three-point field goals with 168.
He was named to the MIAA all-freshman team in 1987-88 and was
the conference Newcomer of the Year that same season, and was
named to the all-conference team three-times. Pilz was a two-time
all-region selection and was a second team All-American in 1990-91.
