Sharon Kampwerth - Women's Volleyball

Inducted: 2004

Sharon Kampwerth becomes the first volleyball player to be inducted into the UMSL Sports Hall of Fame, having played for the Riverwomen in 1991 and 1992. She was an all-conference selection in the MIAA in both seasons at UMSL, and was an all-region selection in 1992. She earned academic honors as well in 1992, being named to the MIAA Academic All-Conference team and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team selection. In 1991, her first year at UMSL, Kampwerth helped lead the volleyball program to its first ever appearance in the NCAA Regionals. She holds the school record for best career hitting percentage (.387) as well as many single season records, which include most kills in a season (560), most service aces (128), most blocks (298), best hitting percentage (.411) and most matches with 20 or more kills (10).
