UMSL Volleyball Sweeps Quincy in Three Games

St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team swept Quincy University 3-0 (30-27, 30-19, 30-26) in a conference match on Tuesday night, to snap a two-match losing skid.

UMSL took a while to get started, trailing through most of the first game before taking their first lead at 23-22. UM-St. Louis held on from there for a 30-27 win in the opening game. UMSL then dominated the second game to win 30-19. UM-St. Louis led 8-7 in that second game and then used an 11-2 run to take control and lead 19-9 and cruised from there for the game two win. In the third game, UMSL trailed 6-3 in the early going, but used a 6-0 run to lead 9-6. UMSL held a slight lead from there until Quincy came back to tie the game at 20-20, but UMSL went on a 7-2 run at that point and held on for the 30-26 win in game three to take the match.

UMSL improves to 9-15 on the season and is now 6-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UM-St. Louis will be on the road on Thursday to play at Washington - St. Louis.
