UMSL Closes Out Weekend Tournament with 3-0 Win

The UMSL volleyball team capped off their opening weekend with a 3-0 win over Southwest Baptist at the Missouri Southern Invitational. UM-St. Louis opened the weekend with losses to Colorado-State Pueblo and host Missouri Southern on Friday, and lost to Minnsota-Moorhead on Saturday morning.

Against Southwest Baptist, Christy Trame led UMSL with 14 kills and seven blocks in the win and Sarah Eisnaugle had 12 kills. UMSL won the opening game of the match 30-22, then dominated the last two games, winning 30-16 and 30-18 for the win. Lisa Brinker had 32 assists in the win and Erin Denton led the team with 13 digs.

For the weekend, Christy Trame led the team with 45 kills in four matches and had 13 total blocks. Sarah Eisnaugle had 27 kills and Erin Denton had 22 kills and 29 digs in the tournament. Joslyn Brown led the team with 40 digs on the weekend and Claudia Medina added 20 kills, 19 digs and eight blocks in the four matches as well.
