| UMSL Cruises Past Kentucky Wesleyan 3-0 Owensboro, Ky.– The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (30-15, 30-8, 30-14) at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, helping the UMSL chances at making the GLVC Tournament. The first game was the closest of the three, with UMSL committing just five errors in the game, the most of any game in the match, and won 30-15. UM-St. Louis then dominated the second game, recording just two hitting errors for the game while forcing Kentucky Wesleyan to hit into 13 errors for a dominating 30-8 win in the second game. UMSL then took care of business in the third game, recording 21 kills in the game to win 30-14 and take that match three games to none. UMSL was led by Erin Denton and Claudia Medina with ten kills each while Sarah Eisnaugle had nine kills and Christy Trame added seven kills. Lisa Brinker had 42 assists to lead UMSL, and Heather Nichols had a team best nine digs. As a team, UMSL recorded nine total service aces, as seven different players each recorded an ace for UM-St. Louis. UMSL improves to 10-15 overall on the season and is now an even 7-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The ten wins are the first double-digit win season for UMSL since the 2002 season. With the win, UMSL moves into sole possession of seventh place in the GLVC standings, and sit half game behind sixth-place Southern Indiana and one game ahead of eighth-placed Drury. The top eight teams in the standings qualify for the GLVC Tournament.
