Trame Named All-Conference Selection

St. Louis, Mo. – University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball player Christy Trame (Highland, Ill./Highland) was named a Great Lakes Valley Second Team All-Conference selection as voted on by league coaches.

Trame, a sophomore, leads the team in kills this season with 343, and in hitting percentage at .285. She has given the team a solid presence at the net this season with a team high 97 total blocks, and her 1.04 blocks per game ranks eighth in the GLVC. She ranks in the top ten in the conference in both kills and hitting percentage, and is fourth in the conference in points per game at 4.72. Trame has recorded double digits kills in 19 matches this season and led the team in kills in 13 matches this year. She led the team in blocks in 15 matches and has recorded 36 service aces.

Trame is the second player under head coach Josh Lauer to earn all-conference honors in his first three seasons as head coach. Claudia Medina (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) was a second team all-conference selection in the 2003 season.

UMSL is currently 11-17 on the season and finished the conference season with an 8-8 mark in the GLVC. UM-St. Louis qualified for the GLVC Tournament this year for the first time since the 2002 season, and will be in action on Thursday, November 2, at 2:30 pm, when they face Rockhurst. The conference tournament is being hosted this year on the campus of SIU Edwardsville.
