UMSL Falters on Weekend Trip

UM-St. Louis Fall to Northern Kentucy, Bellarmine

The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team dropped two road games this weekend, falling at 3-0 at Northern Kentucky and 3-2 at Bellarmine.

In Friday night's game, UMSL fell 3-0 at Northern Kentucky, losing 30-18, 30-18, 30-13. UMSL was led by Chelsea Baumstark with eight kills and Claudia Medina had six kills. Lisa Brinker led the team with 19 assists and eight digs.

The Riverwomen played tough at Bellarmine, but came up short in the final game to lost 3-2 (30-25, 27-30, 30-19, 25-30, 15-7). Heather Nichols led UMSL with 13 kills on the day and Sarah Eisnaugle and Shamika Williams added eight kills each. Lisa Brinker had 41 assists and Joslyn Brown recorded 20 digs.

UMSL is now 5-19 on the season and 5-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Riverwomen will be at home next week to host Quincy on Tuesday night at 7 pm.
