UMSL Comes up Short in Return Home Riverwomen Fall to Indianapolis 3-0 St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team played their first home conference match, and first home match since the beginning of September, but fell short against Indianapolis, losing 3-0 (30-25, 30-23, 30-18). The first game was back and forth, with both teams holding small leads, but the Greyhounds took control late to get the win. UMSL again stayed close in the second game until a run by Indianapolis midway through the game gave them the advantage and the Greyhounds held on for the 30-23 win. Indianapolis then cruised in the third and final game to take the match. UMSL was led by Heather Nichols (Black Earth, Wis./Edgewood) with 12 kills and 12 digs and Daria Sak (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) head a team-high 15 digs to go with her 10 kills. Ashley Richmond (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had 31 assist for UMSL and Claudia Medina (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) added 13 digs. The Riverwomen fall to 5-9 on the season
and 1-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UMSL will be at home again
on Saturday afternoon when they host Saint Joseph’s at 1 pm.
