UMSL Lags Behind Greyhounds

Indianapolis Wins 3-0 Over Riverwomen

Indianapolis, Ind. – The UMSL volleyball team couldn't keep up with the Indianapolis Greyhounds, falling 3-0 (30-14, 30-19, 30-19) in a GLVC matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Indianapolis used good team hitting in the win, ending with a .333 hitting percentage for the match and made just 11 hitting errors. UMSL had 23 errors and had a team hitting percentage of .095 in the loss. Daria Sak (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) led UMSL with 10 kills in the match, and also had 12 digs to lead the team. Claudia Medina (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) had nine kills and recorded three solo blocks in the match. Ashley Richmond (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had a team best 29 assists in the match.

UMSL falls to 4-7 on the season and 0-2 in the GLVC standings. The Riverwomen will be on the road againt next weekend when they travel to play a single match at Bellarmine on Saturday, September 25.
