UMSL Stumbles at Drury

UMSL Falls to Drury in Three Games

Springfield, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team traveled to play at Drury in a matchup of future conference opponents as Drury will join the GLVC next season. Drury held off a tough UMSL team, winning 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-19).

UMSL stayed close in the first game, eventually falling by three points 30-27, but fell by a bigger deficit in the next two games, losing 30-21 and 30-19. Nikki Pagels (Fox River Grove, Ill./Cary Grove) led UMSL with 11 kills, Claudia Medina (Las Cruces, N.M./Las Cruces) added nine kills and Heather Nichols (Quincy, Ill./Quincy) had eight kills. Daria Sak (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) had a match high 27 digs and Medina and Nichols each added 15 digs. Ashley Richmond (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had 29 assists for the Riverwomen.

UMSL is now 3-2 on the season and will be in action again next weekend when they play four matches at the St. Xavier Tournament in Chicago, Ill.
