UMSL Volleyball Spikes Kentucky Wesleyan Riverwomen Win All Three Games to Defeat Panthers St. Louis, Mo. – The UMSL volleyball team routed Kentucky Wesleyan in a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon. The Riverwomen made the most of their chances and capitalized on the Panther errors to notch their first conference win of the season. The Riverwomen jumped out quickly in the first game and dominated from the beginning, winning 30-10. In the second game, the Panthers fought back from an early deficit and took the lead midway through the game. Nikki Pagels (Fox River Grove, Ill./Cary Grove) helped spark UMSL in that second game and rally for the win, as Pagels recorded seven of her game-high 12 kills in the second game to help the Riverwomen to a 30-23 win. The third game saw KWC start off with four consecutive errors and UMSL took advantage, cruising to a 30-18 win for the 3-0 match victory. Nikki Pagels led UMSL with 12 kills on the day, Gillian Falknor (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) added nine kills and 11 digs and Stacey Pearl (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge) had 20 assists for the Riverwomen. UMSL improves to 4-5 on the season and
1-1 in the GLVC. The Riverwomen will be at home on Wednesday evening
when they host local rival SIU Edwardsville at 7 pm.
