UMSL Finishes Regular Season; Gears up for Conference Tournament

Romeoville, Ill. – The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team lost 3-0 at Lewis on Saturday afternoon, wrapping up the regular season portion of the schedule as the Riverwomen will now prepare for the GLVC Tournament. UMSL fell 30-20, 30-16, 30-27 to the Flyers on Saturday.

The first game was fairly close, as Lewis made just five hitting errors to win 30-20. UMSL then collapsed in the second game, committing more hitting errors (9) than the team had kills (8), losing that game 30-16 and give the Flyers a big advantage. The third game was the closest, as UMSL battled strong to stay alive, but came up just short as Lewis won the final game 30-27.

Nikki Pagels (Fox River Grove, Ill./Cary Grove) led UMSL with ten kills on the day and Ashley Richmond (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had 19 assists for the Riverwomen.

UMSL is now 8-14 on the season and 5-9 in the GLVC as the team wrapped up the regular season. The Riverwomen will now get ready for the GLVC tournament, which begins next weekend. UMSL will face top seed and host Northern Kentucky on Thursday, November 13, at 7:30 pm.
