Riverwomen Win in Three Straight

UMSL Wins 3-0, Secures Spot in GLVC Tournament

Owensboro, Ky. – The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team got back on the winning track Friday night with a road conference win at Kentucky Wesleyan. The Riverwomen beat the Panthers 3-0 for the second time this season, winning 30-16, 30-27, 30-16. With the UMSL win and a Saint Joseph's loss this evening, the Riverwomen have secured a spot in the upcoming GLVC Tournament.

Nikki Pagels (Fox River Grove, Ill./Cary Grove) led UMSL with 16 kills and just one hitting error on the night. She also added two blocks in the match. Kathryn Freeman (Goodyear, Ariz./Centennial) had 11 kills and two blocks and Gillian Falknor (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) had 10 kills and 13 digs. As a team, UMSL recorded 49 total kills in the match while limiting Kentucky Wesleyan to just 19 kills in the match.

UMSL improves to 8-11 on the season with the win, and improve to 5-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Riverwomen will try and get back to the .500 mark in the conference on Saturday when they play at Southern Indiana at 1 pm.
