UMSL Ends Season with Loss to Northern Kentucky

Riverwomen Ousted 3-0 in GLVC Tournament Quarterfinals

Highland Heights, Ky. – The Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Northern Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the GLVC tournament. UMSL was lost 31-29, 30-16, 30-15 to the top-seeded Norse.

The first game was a close contest, as UMSL fought to gain an early advantage in an upset bid. The Riverwomen eventually lost 31-29 in the first game before Northern Kentucky rallied strong to win the next two games 30-16, 30-15. The Norse capitalized on making few mistakes in the second and third games, committing a total of four hitting errors in those two games while UMSL committed 18 over those last two games.

UMSL was led by Kathryn Freeman (Goodyear, Ariz./Centennial) with 13 kills and two blocks and Ashley Richmond (Milford, Ohio/Milford) had 15 assists and seven digs in the match. The Riverwomen finish their season with an 8-15 record on the season.
