SAK NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE

Sak Named to GLVC All-Conference Volleyball Team

St. Louis, Mo. – UMSL sophomore Daria Sak (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) was named to the Great Lakes Valley All-Conference First Team as voted on by league coaches. Sak was named to the first team all-conference as a defensive specialst, the only player on the first team at that position.

Sak played in all 27 matches on the season for the Riverwomen, as the team finished with a 13-14 record overall. She led the team with 425 total digs on the season. Her 4.65 digs per game was the best in the conference and the next best in the conference in that category was 4.14

Sak becomes the fourth UMSL volleyball player to earn all-conference honors in the GLVC, and the third to earn first-team all-conference honors in the GLVC. Tamyka Cook and Sheri Grewe both earned first team All-GLVC honors in UMSL’s first season in the conference in 1996, and Michelle Hochstatter was a second team selection in 2000.
