UMSL Volleyball Receives National Academic Award

Riverwomen Honored for Second Consecutive Season

ST. LOUIS, MO – For the second consecutive year, the UMSL volleyball team was recently awarded the AVCA/Molten Team Academic Award for the 2000-01 season. The award honors college and high school teams across the country that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average during the 2001-02 school year. The UMSL volleyball team compiled a team grade point average of 3.43 last year.
UMSL was one of 20 NCAA Division II teams to win the award, and one of 99 total NCAA teams across all divisions to receive recognition. The Riverwomen had the ninth-highest team grade point average in the country at the Division II level.
