UMSL Signs Two Players for Next Year David Conely Added to Men's Team; Stacy Goodman to Women's Team St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis head tennis coach Rick Gyllenborg has announced the signing of two players for next years men’s and women’s tennis teams. On the men’s side, David Conley (St. Louis, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) will play for the Rivermen and Stacy Goodman (Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan) will play for the women’s team next year. Conley finished in the top eight individually at the state championships while helping lead his high school team to a fourth-place finish in the team competition. He also placed second at the districts in 2005. Conley was a member of the Midwest USTA National Tennis Team and was ranked seventh in the St. Louis District and ranked 22nd in the Missouri Valley Section. He was ranked 12th in all of Scotland over the summer of 2005 and made the finals of the West Highland Grass Court Championships in Oban, Scotland. Goodman had a stellar career at Troy Buchanan
High School where she placed first in the Gateway Athletic Conference
three years, doing it twice at the number one singles spot. She also
had two, third-place finishes in the district tournament. Her high school
accomplishments extend beyond the tennis courts, as Goodman was honored
as a Missouri Scholars 100 for being one of the top 100 high school
students in the state of Missouri and was named to the GAC All-Academic
Team.
