UMSL Dominates in Win Over McKendree

Rivermen Win 8-1

The UMSL men's tennis team dominated in an 8-1 win over visiting McKendree on Wednesday afternoon. The Rivermen won all three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches in the win.

The closest doubles match was an 8-4 win at one doubles as the Rivermen won all three of those matches. Francis Lam had the toughest singles win at one singles, winning in a third set tiebreaker 3-6, 6-1, 10-9. Mike Schaaf won at three singles 6-2, 6-4 and Peter Hantack cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at four singles. At five and six singles, UMSL got 6-0, 6-0 wins from Ryan Burgdorger and Raj Saini in the victory.

The Rivermen will be home for two conference matches this weekend, hosting Rockhurst on Friday at 3 pm, and then hosting Drury on Saturday at 9 am.
