UMSL Ends Season with Loss at GLVC Tournament

Rivermen Fall 5-2 to Indianapolis

Edwardsville, Ill. - The UMSL men's tennis team ended their season with a 5-2 loss to East Division #1 Seed Indianapolis in the GLVC Tournament on Friday morning. The Rivermen finish their season with an overall record of 6-12.

UMSL got one point in the doubles matches, as Stephen Pobst and Ryan Burgdorfer cruied to an easy 8-1 win at two doubles. The three doubles match was a close contest that saw the Rivermen fall short, losing 8-6. In the singles matches, Mike Schaaf recorded a big 6-0, 6-2 win at three singles to make the match all square at 2-2. The Greyhounds then got a win at six singles and had to battle for the final two points, having to go three sets at both two and five singles before getting the wins. The one and four singles matches were both unfinished but had each gone to a third set as well.

The Rivermen end the year with an overall record of 5-2.
