UMSL Dominates in Win Over Maryville

Rivermen Sweep All Matches in Victory

St. Louis, Mo. – After a loss to Division I St. Louis, the UMSL men’s tennis team got back on the winning track with a win over Maryville, winning each match in the 7-0 victory.

The closest match of the day was at one doubles, were Mike Schaaf (St. Louis, Mo./Francis Howell) and Stephen Pobest (Sikeston, Mo./Sikeston) pulled out an 8-6 win. The Rivermen took two and three doubles with easy 8-0 wins in each. In singles play, Stephen Pobst and Rajan Saini (Victoria, British Columbia) each won easily by scored of 6-0, 6-0 at three and four singles respectively. Ryan Burgdorfer (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove) won 6-1, 6-0 at six singles while Mike Schaaf won 6-0, 6-1 at two singles and Max Bugner (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) won by the same score at five singles. The closest singles match was Francis Lam (Kettering, England) winning 6-2, 6-3 at one singles as UMSL swept each match in the 7-0 win.
