Lam, Schaaf Named All-Conference Selections

Men's Tennis Players Earn All-Conference Honors

St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s tennis team had two players earn conference honors as Francis Lam (Kettering, England) and Mike Schaaf (St. Louis, Mo./Francis Howell) were both named to the Great Lakes Valley All-Conference team as voted on by league coaches.

Lam has played most of the season as the number one singles player for the Rivermen. His overall record in singles play was 11-6 heading into the conference tournament, including a 9-2 record at one singles and he was 6-1 in conference matches. The 11 wins in singles play for Lam were the most on the team. In double matches, Lam was a combined 8-5 on the year, including a 5-2 double record in the conference doubles matches.

Schaaf saw most of his action at the two singles position, going 6-3 at the two singles spot and he was 8-7 in singles matches on the year. In conference play, he went 3-2, including a few matches that were unfinished with Schaaf in the lead. In doubles play, Schaaf was 8-6 on the year, including a 7-4 record when playing at the one doubles spot. This is the second all-conference honor for Schaaf, as he was named to the GLVC All-Conference team in 2003 when he also earned conference Freshman of the Year honors.
