UMSL Beats Vincennes

Rivermen Pull Out 6-3 Victory

St. Louis, Mo. – The UMSL men’s tennis team pulled off a close 6-3 victory over Vincennes on Thursday afternoon, winning two of the three doubles matches and then taking four singles matches.

UMSL won at two and three doubles, and barely lost a close 9-8 match at one doubles. In singles matches, Raj Saini (Victoria, British Columbia) won 6-3, 6-1 at four singles, and James Daugherty (White Settlement, Texas/Brewer) won 6-1, 7-6 (6) at six singles. Francis Lam (Kettering, England) came from behind to win a big three set match at three singles, winning 0-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Matt Vaulkhard (Victoria, British Columbia) got a win at one singles 7-5, 7-6 (8).

The Rivermen will be in action again this weekend, hosting Lewis on Friday at 3 pm, and then host Saint Joseph’s on Saturday at 3 pm.
