Vaulkhard Named GLVC All-Conference Vaulkhard Adds All-Conference Honor to Record Setting Season St. Louis, Mo. – UMSL senior Matt Vaulkhard (Victoria, British Columbia) was named to the Great Lakes Valley All-Conference men’s tennis team on Thursday, adding another honor to his record setting season and career. Vaulkhard was named to the All-Conference men’s tennis team for the third time during his four-year career. He finished this season with an overall singles record of 12-9, and a 9-6 record in doubles matches, and was 4-4 in conference singles matches this season as well. Earlier this week, Vaulkhard reached a career mark by recording his 51st career singles win on Tuesday that set a new UMSL school record. UMSL Sports Hall of Famer Tom January held the previous mark at 50 career singles win, a record that stood for 30 years. Vaulkhard is a repeat selection to the GLVC All-Conference team, earning that honor during his freshman year when he was also named GLVC Freshman of the Year, and earning it last season as a junior when he was an All-Conference selection as well. He was named by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the Player to Watch in the Great Lakes Region as a sophomore, an honor given to underclassmen who show potential to be good players. Last season as a junior, Vaulkhard earned academic honors as well, being named to the GLVC Academic All-Conference team and was named an ITA Scholar Athlete. Vaulkhard and the Rivermen will be in action on Friday morning at 9 am, when they play Indianapolis in the first round of the GLVC Tournament. GLVC
