UMSL Dominates in Win Over Quincy Rivermen Win All Six Singles Matches in 8-1 Victory Quincy, Ill. – The UMSL men’s tennis team bounced back after two tough losses this past weekend to defeat Quincy 8-1 in a GLVC matchup on Tuesday. The Rivermen won all six singles matches after dropping just one of the three doubles matches. Matt Vaulkhard (Victoria, British Columbia) had a tough 6-3, 6-3 win at one singles, and Mike Schaaf (St. Louis, Mo./Francis Howell) battled through a three-set win at two singles, winning 6-1, 2-6, 10-8. The rest of the singles matches were no contest, as Francis Lam (Kettering, England) won 6-0, 6-0 at three singles, Raj Saini (Victoria, British Columbia) won 6-0, 6-2 at four singles, Stephen Pobst (Sikeston, Mo./Sikeston) won 6-0, 6-2 at five singles and James Daugherty (White Settlement, Texas/Brewer) finished it off with a 6-0, 6-0 win at six singles. UMSL is now 6-7 on the season and 2-4 in the GLVC. The Rivermen will be in action tomorrow for a match across town at Washington (Mo.) University, and then host Vincennes on Thursday, Lewis on Friday and Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
