UMSL Notches Win in First Spring Match UMSL Wins 7-2 Over Lewis & Clark Godfrey, Ill. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s tennis team notched a win in its first spring match of the season, defeating Lewis & Clark 7-2. UMSL swept the three doubles matches, winning one doubles 8-5, two doubles 8-4 and three doubles 8-6. In the singles matches, UMSL lost at the first two singles spots, but got wins from two newcomers as Francis Lam (Kettering, England) won 6-1, 6-0 at three singles and James Daugherty (White Settlement, Texas/Brewer) won 6-2, 6-1 at six singles. Other singles wins came from Raj Saini (Victoria, British Columbia) at four singles and Stephen Pobst (Sikeston, Mo./Sikeston) at five singles. The Rivermen pick up the victory, but because Lewis & Clark is a two-year institution, it does not count in official team or individual statistics. UMSL will be in action again at home this Saturday against Maryville College beginning at 10 am. RECAP
