Rivermen Beat Indianapolis, Fall to S. Indiana in Semifinals

UMSL Ends Regular Season with 11-8 Record

Indianapolis, Ind. – The UMSL men's tennis team fell 5-0 to second-seeded Southern Indiana in the semifinals of the GLVC men's tennis tournament. The loss followed a morning win against third seeded Indianapolis 5-3 in the quarterfinals.

UMSL dropped all three doubles matches against the Screaming Eagles, and USI closed it out by winning the first two singles matches for the 5-0 win.

Against Indianapolis, the Rivermen won the two and three doubles match against Indianapolis for the early lead. UMSL then got wins at three singles from Francis Lam (Kettering, England), at four singles from Raj Saini (Victoria, British Columbia) and at five singles from Stephen Pobst (Sikeston, Mo./Sikeston) to record the 5-3 victory.

UMSL finishes the regular season with an 11-8 record, and will await word for a possible bid to the NCAA Regionals.
