UMSL Beats Quincy 6-0

Rivermen Win All Six Singles Matches

St. Louis, Mo. - The UMSL men's tennis team rebounded from two conference losses last weekend with a big win over Quincy. The Rivermen won all six singles matches to take the 6-0 victory, improving to 7-5 on the season and 2-2 in the GLVC.

Matt Vaulkhard won a close 6-3, 6-4 match at one singles and Martin Kardos cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win two singles. Mike Schaaf then got a 6-3, 6-4 win at three singles and Stephen Pobst got a win at four singles in the closest match of the day, winning 6-3, 7-5. Rajan Saini and Martin Damm got easy wins at five and six singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively.

The Rivermen will continue a busy week of action as they host Lewis & Clark on Wednesday afternoon, then play three road GLVC matches to end the week. UMSL will play at SIU Edwardsville on Thursday, at Lewis on Friday and at Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
