UMSL Wins on the Road at UM Rolla

Rivermen Wins All Singles Matches in 7-2 Win

Rolla, Mo. – The UMSL men’s tennis team defeated cross-state rival Missouri-Rolla on Tuesday 7-2. The Rivermen improve to 12-5 on the season with the win and head into the GLVC Tournament this coming weekend.

UMSL stumbled in the doubles matches, dropping two of three. Mario Gruden and Rajan Saini teamed up for an 8-6 win at two doubles for the lone victory. The Rivermen then came through strong in the singles matches, winning all six of those contests. Matt Vaulkhard took a default win at one singles, and Mike Schaaf and Mario Gruden fought out a couple of tough wins at two and three singles respectively. Martin Damm won at four singles 6-4, 6-1, and Rajan Saini and Stephen Pobst both recorded easy wins at five and six singles.
