Smith Named soccerMO.com Player of the Week

UMSL sophomore Jared Smith was named soccerMO.com Player of the Week for his efforts that led to a 2-0 start for the Rivermen in the opening weekend of the season. Smith scored two goals in a win over Lyon College, erasing a 2-0 deficit in the first half as UMSL came back to win 3-2. Against Harding, Smith scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in UMSL's 2-0 win.

The Rivermen will open up their conference season on Friday night when they host Quincy at 5 pm.
