| Second Half Goals Give UMSL Third Straight Win St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team got a win in their first conference game of the season, beating Quincy 2-0 behind two second half goals. The Rivermen improved to 3-0 to start the season, the best start to a season since 1994. After a scoreless first half, UMSL got on the board in the 51st minute as Colin Huber got past a defender around the left side and broke free into the box and scored on a shot from eight yards out for a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, UMSL would add to that lead as Jared Smith scored his fourth goal of the season. Smith split a pair of defenders in the right corner then sped past another defender and scored from ten yards out for the 2-0 win. Goalkeeper Zach Hoette recorded one save and his second shutout of the season. UMSL
is now 3-0 on the season and will be at home again on Sunday when they
host SIU Edwardsville at 7:30 pm.
