UMSL Goes Unbeaten on Road Weekend

The Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team completed an unbeaten road trip this weekend, getting a win at Rockhurst and a tie at 7th-ranked Drury.

On Friday night, UMSL won their second straight 1-0 game, winning at Rockhurst. Neither team scored in the first half as both defenses held strong. In the second half, UMSL got the games only score with a goal in the 67th minute by Danny Muesenfechter, his first career goal with the Rivermen. Zach Hoette recorded three saves for his sixth shutout of the season.

UMSL then faced 7th-ranked Drury and battled the Panthers to a 0-0 tie. Both teams had plenty of chances, as UMSL had 14 shots and Drury had 16 total shots, but neither team could find the net. UMSL goalkeeper Zach Hoette registered five saves in the game to record his seventh shutout of the season.

UMSL is now 6-3-2 on the season and are 3-3-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rivermen will be on the road Wednesday night when they play at Missouri-Rolla at 5 pm.
