| UMSL Suffers Two Close Losses on the Weekend The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team suffered two close losses over the weekend, coming up one goal short in each game as the Rivermen fell 2-1 at Bellarmine and 1-0 at Northern Kentucky. Against Bellarmine, UMSL fell behind in the first half on a goal by Bellarmine in the 27th minute. The Knights scored again seven minutes into the second half for a 2-0 lead before UMSL got on the scoreboard in the 60th minute. Jared Smith scored his team leading fifth goal of the season off a free kick to cut into the lead. The Rivermen had nine total shots in the second half, but could not find the net and fell 2-1. On Sunday, the Rivermen battled Northern Kentucky to a scoreless tie in the first half as neither team found the net in the opening half. The Norse then got on the board in the 57th minute, scoring the games only goal to give UMSL the 1-0 loss. UMSL is now 4-3 on the season and 1-3 in the GLVC. The Rivermen will be home next weekend to host Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday night at 5 pm, and then host Lewis on Sunday at 12 pm.
