UMSL Men's Soccer Signs Three Players

Head Coach Dan King Announces New Signees

St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer head coach Dan King has announced the signing of three players for next year’s team, signing one local player and a pair of high school teammates from Illinois.

Chris Clarkin (Florissant, Mo./Trinity HS) is a two-time all-conference and two-time all state selection as a midfielder. He was also an all-metro selection in 2004 and helped lead Trinity High School to a second-place finish in the 2005 state tournament. Clarkin has also played for the Scott Gallagher Club soccer team.

Ryan South (Chatham, Ill./Glenwood HS) and Paul Hummel (Chatham, Ill./Glenwood) were high school teammates who from Illinois who helped lead their team to a state championship in 2005 and will continue their careers together at UMSL. South was an all-sectional and all-conference selection in 2004, and followed that with an all-state selection in 2005. He was also an academic all-conference selection and member of the National Honor Society. Hummel was an all-conference selection in 2004 and honorable mention all-conference selection in 2005. He was also an honorable mention all-sectional selection as a senior.
