UMSL Misses Chances Late in 2-0 Loss Rivermen Fall to Missouri-Rolla St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team saw a couple of close chances late come up short in a 2-0 loss to visiting Missouri-Rolla. The Miners got a 1-0 lead midway through the second half to take the first advantage at 1-0 in the 59th minutes. UMSL would fight back and had a few chances in close, missing some shots in the box with some defensive blocks by the Miners to preserve their one goal lead. In the closing minutes, with just over five minutes to play, UMR added an insurance goal for the 2-0 win. UMSL goalkeeper Zach Hoette (Florissant, Mo./Rosary) did his best to keep the Rivermen in the game, recorded five saves on the night. UMSL falls to 3-6-3 on the season and 3-6-2
in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rivermen will host their final
home game of the season when they play Upper Iowa on Friday, October
14, with a start time of 8 pm.
