UMSL Picked 11th in Preseason Poll

Rivermen Return 12 Letterwinners from Last Season

St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team was picked 11th in the GLVC Preseason Poll as voted on by league coaches. UMSL finished with 62 points in the voting, with league newcomer Missouri-Rolla one point ahead at 63 points in 10th place. SIU Edwardsville was picked first with 169 total points.

UMSL returns their top three scorers from last season, led by Matt Anderson (St. Louis, Mo./Northwest) who had a team high five goals last year and added one assist. Second team all-conference selection Alen Jujic (St. Louis, Mo./Affton) led the team in points last year with 14, recording four goals and a team-best six assists, and Jeff Menke (St. Louis, Mo./Rosary) had three goals and four assists on the year.

The Rivermen get their season started on Labor Day Weekend when they host Benedictine on Saturday, September 3, at 2 pm.
