UMSL, NKU Deadlock at 0-0

Hoette Records Shutout in Tie

St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team played an extra 20 minutes of soccer against Northern Kentucky and still came away with their third tie of the season, finishing with a 0-0 tie against the Norse. It was the fourth game this season where the Rivermen have gone to a second overtime period, the third time the team has tied but it was the first 0-0 tie this year.

Neither team could find the net through 110 minutes of action. UMSL had the best chances early and NKU had some chances late in regulation and in the overtime periods. UMSL goalkeeper Zach Hoette (Florissant, Mo./Rosary) recorded five saves on the night, most of which were point blank shots that kept UMSL from defeat. It was the first shutout of the year for Hoette and the second for the team.

UMSL will be in action again on Sunday when they host Bellarmine at 2:30 pm.
