UMSL Suffers First Loss of the Year Rivermen Fall to #21 Indianapolis St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team lost their first game of the season with a 2-0 defeat against 21st-ranked Indianapolis (5-0-1, 1-0-1 GLVC). It was the first loss for UMSL (1-1-1, 1-1 GLVC)) in three games this season. Indianapolis got on the board quickly, scoring the first goal of the game in the third minute on a shot by J.R. Ohmer. UMSL played the Greyhound even for most of the rest of the half, but Indianapolis got a couple shots off late and scored their second goal with just 0:28 seconds left in the half for a 2-0 halftime advantage. The second half was a back-and-forth battle, as the few UMSL chances to score were saved by the Indianapolis goalkeeper to shutout the Rivermen and preserve the 2-0 win for the Greyhounds. UMSL is now 1-1-1 on the season and 1-1
in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rivermen will be on the road
next weekend to play at Kentucky Wesleyan and at Southern Indiana.
