Rivermen and Ravens Play to a Draw 110 Minutes of Action Ends in a 1-1 Tie St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team opened their season at home against Benedictine and after 110 minutes of play, neither team came away with the lead as the two settled for a 1-1 tie. During the first half neither team allowed a goal and at the break the game was scoreless. The Rivermen tallied six shots in the back-and-forth action during the first half. Both teams came out aggressive to start the second half. Benedictine was able to gain momentum and score with about 15 minutes left in the game. A few minutes later UMSL evened the score when Kraig Tenge (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood Central) shot a laser into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. Neither team was able to put together an offensive charge and game ended in a 1-1 tie. UMSL
is now 0-0-1 on the season. The Rivermen will host St. Joseph’s
on Friday at 7:30 pm in their first conference game of the season.
