UMSL Wins Second Straight Game Rivermen Get Two Second Half Goals in 3-1 Win St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team won their second straight road game with a 3-1 victory at Southern Indiana. The Rivermen improved to 3-1 in the GLVC with the win and 3-1-1 overall. UMSL got the first goal of the game late in the first half as Brett Kattmann (St. Louis, Mo./Ritenour) scored with just over a minute remaining in the half to give UMSL a 1-0 lead at the break. Southern Indiana came back early in the second half, getting a goal in the first five minutes of the half to tie the game at 1-1. Jeff Menke (St. Louis, Mo./Rosary) scored the game-winning goal in the 61st minute on an assist from Brad Campbell (St. Louis, Mo./CBC) to give UMSL at 2-1 lead. Colin Huber (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summitt) then added an insurance goal just four minutes later for the 3-1 UMSL victory. Goalkeeper Zach Hoette (Florissant, Mo./Rosary) recorded five saves in the game to help preserve the UMSL win. The Rivermen improve to 3-1-1 on the season
and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. UMSL will be home next
weekend when they host Drury on Friday night at 7:30 pm and then host
Rockhurst on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
