UMSL Finishes Season with 2-2 Tie Rivermen End Season with Tie on Goals by Paasch, Menke Lebanon, Ill. – The Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team wrapped up their season on Wednesday afternoon, finishing in a 2-2 tie at McKendree. The Rivermen finished up their season with a 4-9-4 overall record on the year. UMSL got on the board first, getting a goal in the 32nd minute from freshman Chris Paasch (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood West) for a quick lead. With less than two minutes remaining in the half, the Rivermen got their second goal from Jeff Menke (St. Louis, Mo./Rosary), recording his fourth goal of the season off an assist from Colin Huber (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summitt) to lead 2-0 at halftime. McKendree came back in the second half, breaking the shutout with a goal in the 77th minute, and then tied the game on a goal with less than two minutes to play in regulation to force overtime. Neither team could find the net in the two overtime periods, resulting in the 2-2 tie. UMSL goalkeeper Zach Hoette (Florissant, Mo./Rosary) recorded eight saves in the game. The Rivermen finish their season with an
overall record of 4-9-4 on the season.
