UMSL Stumbles Against Wisconsin-Parkside Rivermen Settle for a Loss Due to a Late Rangers' Goal St. Louis, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team took the pitch against the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers this evening. Matt Anderson (St. Louis, Mo./Northwest) tied the game at 1-1 in the first half for UMSL. The Rangers jumped to early lead when they slid the ball past the UMSL goalie. Late in the half, Anderson tied the game, unassisted. At the break the game was tied, 1-1. Wisconsin-Parkside had five shots while UM-St. Louis had four shots in the half. Both teams came back from the break playing aggressive on both ends of the field. After much back and forth action, the Rangers were able to put another one away in the final ten minutes of regulation. That goal would prove to be enough as Wisconsin-Parkside went on to win, 2-1. The
UM-St. Louis men’s soccer team will take the pitch on Sunday against
conference opponent Saint Joseph at 12 noon. The Rivermen are now 2-3-1
in the GLVC and 6-6-2 overall.
