Rivermen now 2-0-1 in Conference Games Jujic Scores Game Winning Goal in 4-0 Shutout Against Kentucky Wesleyan St. Louis , Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis took the pitch this afternoon against conference opponent Kentucky Wesleyan. Alen Jujic (St. Louis, Mo./Afton) scored the first goal of the game to give UMSL a 1-0 lead. Matt Anderson (St. Louis, Mo./Northwest), Tyler Linder (Florissant, Mo./Rosary), Jonathan Market (Jackson, Mo./Notre Dame) gave the Rivermen a goal a piece to seal the victory. The first half of the game was controlled by UM-St. Louis, who had six shots in the half, unfortunately they were unable to put one by the Kentucky Wesleyan defense. The Rivermen defense allowed the Panthers only one shot in the half. After 45 minutes of action the game was tied 0-0. Both teams came into the second half looking to be the first to score. UMSL was the first to score when Jujic buried the ball in the corner of the net. Shortly after, Anderson put the ball past the goalie when Jujic passed him the ball from the top of the box. Dave Seckman (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) passed the ball ahead to Linder, allowing him to score the third UMSL goal. The fourth goal was headed in by Market off a corner kick by Kurt Schuler (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central). The Rivermen recorded their third shutout this season with a 4-0 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. The
UM-St. Louis men’s soccer team is now 6-3-1 on the season and
2-0-1 against GLVC opponents. The Rivermen will host the Truman State
University Bulldogs Wednesday, September 29 at 6:00 pm for a non-conference
match.
