UMSL's King Signs Six Local Players for Rivermen Soccer UMSL Soccer Building Program Around Local Talent St. Louis, Mo. – Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer coach Dan King has announced the signing of six new players for next season as he looks to add to the returning players and improve on last year’s tremendous success for the UMSL soccer program. In looking to continue his rebuilding of the program, King has again turned to local soccer talent to improve the Rivermen. King signed two players who will be transferring from Lewis and Clark Community College in Mark Meyer (St. Charles, Mo./Duchesne) and Mark Malloy (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North). Meyer was a Collegiate Conference of Central Illinois (CCCI) All-Conference selection last season as a defenseman and recorded one goal and one assists on the season. He was an all-conference selection at Duchesne High School as well. Malloy led the Trailblazers in scoring on the season with 15 goals and five assists for 35 points. He was named to two All-American teams last year, earning those honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Malloy was named the Region 24 Player of the Year as well as first team Midwest Community College Athletic Conference selection and a first team CCCI selection. King also adds a pair of transfers from Florissant Valley Community College with the signing of Doug Drazik (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) and Tyler Linder (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central). King has also signed Pat Devereux (St. Louis, Mo./St. Thomas Aquinas) from East Central Community College as another junior college transfer. The lone high school signee out of the group is Josh Reiter (Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan). Reiter was an all-conference selection by the Gateway Athletic Conference in both his junior and senior seasons. As the team captain, Reiter was named to the Pacific All-Tournament team and set two school records for most points in a season and most assists in a season during his senior season. Reiter will join older brother Jim Reiter (Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan) who played both soccer and baseball for the Rivermen last year and will have one year of eligibility remaining to play soccer for UMSL. The Rivermen are coming off a tremendous season that saw UMSL jump from a 10th place finish in the conference two years ago to a second place finish last year and bid to the GLVC Tournament. Head Coach Dan King was also named the GLVC Coach of the Year for his efforts.
