UMSL Edged by Rockhurst Rivermen Fall 1-0 to Hawks St. Louis, Mo. – The UMSL soccer team dropped a close nonconference game on Wednesday night, falling 1-0 to Rockhurst University. Rockhurst came out firing in the first half, outshooting UMSL 13-1 in the opening half. Of those shots, Rockhurst found the net with one in the 27th minute. Kurt Trouba sent a header into the net off a free kick from Tom Becks for a 1-0 lead at halftime over the Rivermen. Neither team had many looks through most of the second half. A couple of close chances on each side were kept out of the net by saves from the goalkeepers, keeping the score at 1-0 in favor of Rockhurst. UMSL is now 4-8-1 on the season and will
be on the road this weekend. The Rivermen will play at Kentucky Wesleyan
on Friday afternoon and at Bellarmine on Sunday afternoon in a pair
of road conference matches.
