UMSL Men's Soccer Falls to Lewis Rivermen are Shutout 3-0 St. Louis, Mo. – University of Missouri-St. Louis was defeated tonight by Lewis University by a score of 3-0. The Rivermen came out tough, but their efforts proved not enough against Lewis. In the first half Lewis controlled the ball with nine shots on goal and allowing UMSL only two chances. Gabe Leon was able to put two past while teammate Tito Lara scored once in the first half. Heading into the half the score was 3-0. At the start of the second the Rivermen came out ready to even the score. Their defense tightened and the goalie made a few nice saves, things were going in their favor. The offense, however, was a different story and they were once again shut down. At the end of regulation, Lewis was able to hold on to their early lead for a 3-0 victory. The
Rivermen will take the pitch at home on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at
2:30 when they face off against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
