Rivermen Beat by Hannibal-LaGrange

UMSL Falls 2-0 to Trojans

St. Louis, Mo. – The UMSL men’s soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Hannibal-LaGrange on Wednesday night, giving up two goals in the second half to fall to 1-3 on the season.

The first half was a battle by both teams for control of the game. Each team had a couple of opportunities but could not capitalize and the game was tied 0-0 at halftime. In the second half, Hannibal-LaGrange finally broke through in the 48th minute. Hernan Miller sent a crossing pass from the left side and Juan Pablo Wunder sent it into the goal for a 1-0 lead. The Trojans then sealed the game in the 73rd minute on a goal by Patrick Kohm for the 2-0 win.

UMSL falls to 1-3 on the season with the loss and will have the weekend off before playing at McKendree College on Tuesday, September 16. The Rivermen will then be at home to open up the conference season against Lewis on Friday, September 19.
