UMSL Men's Soccer Drops Home Opener

Rivermen Fall 2-1 to Benedictine

St. Louis, Mo. – In the home opener, the UMSL men’s soccer team fell to Benedictine 2-1, giving up the game winning goal just over a minute after scoring a goal that tied the game early in the second half.

Both teams fought for control of the first half until Benedictine got the first goal of the game. Benedictine came back right away and reclaimed the lead, scoring the go-ahead goal at the just over a minute later for a 2-1 win.

The Rivermen fall to 0-2 on the season with the loss and will be in action again at home next week. UMSL will host Missouri Valley on Monday, September 8, at 7 pm, and then host Hannibal LaGrange on Wednesday, September 10, at 7 pm.
