UM-Rolla Shutouts Rivermen Soccer

UMSL Falls 2-0 to Miners

Rolla, Mo. – The UMSL men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 game at Missouri-Rolla on Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup.

The Miners dominated much of the game, outshooting UMSL 25-6 in the game. UMR got on the board in the 11th minute to take a 1-0 lead early in the game, and then added an insurance goal in the 71st minute to secure the 2-0 victory. The lead for the Miners could have been worse had it not been for the play of UMSL goalkeeper Campbell McLaurin (Jackson, Miss./Jackson Prep), who saved 13 shots on the night for the Rivermen to keep the game close.

With the loss, UMSL falls to 3-7 on the season. The Rivermen will be home this weekend for two conference games as UMSL will host Northern Kentucky on Friday night at 5 pm and then host Indianapolis on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
